Certifiable

Hello folks. Long time, no blog. To say it's been busy lately, is an understatement. So I'll just say I've had my hands full...literally.

Baby is well, actually, no longer a baby! He's over a year old now, a week shy of 14 months, and so I've got myself a full blown toddler now!

To say that we celebrated his 1st year birthday with a party, would be an understatement...We celebrated in a BIG WAY, he had 2 parties (1 with family and close friends, an intimate gathering and 1 with practically everyone we know with a huge extravaganza!), with all the bells and whistles, AND his first trip to the ZOO! All that for turning officially, certifiably, 1! Just wait til he turns 2!

I also finally made the exhausting, embarassing, air-condition-less trip to the County Clerk to finally pick up his birth certificate. Yes, a year later...I had no clue this needed to be done so soon? I figured we didn't really need it right away, so we just kept putting it off. Then when I let my new "mommy friends" know that we still hadn't picked up our copies - it's like I committed murder...adultery, they were ready to slap the scarlet letter on my chest! And since I'm not quite ready to live the charmed life of Hester Prynne, I packed up the diaper bag, stocked up on snacks, and put baby in his carseat, face-front now, and off we headed to the County Clerk...

...Yes just us 2. I don't know what I was thinking. It's as pleasant and as patient as a trip to the DMV, only now I have my 1 year old, "all-I-want-to-do-is-walk-around" tot with me. Let's cut to the chase. I really deserve a medal of honor for my service that day. Actually, my son does. We waited in a line that took us over an hour to get through, in a space no bigger than my kitchen, and without AC! Let me rephrase that. I waited in the line while my son did everything to get out of the line.

Important thing is, I got the birth certificate, finally with copies galore, since I do not plan on making any return trips...ever!

So baby is finally certified!

Me, I'm just certifiable!
